आगामी लोकसभा निवडणुकीत ओबीसीला प्रतिनिधित्व मिळण्याचे संकेत.

येणाऱ्या लोकसभा निवडणुकीत कॉंग्रेस पक्षाने लढवण्याच्या जागा व उमेदवारांचे चाचपणी करण्याकरिता मुंबई येथील टिळक भवनात कॉंग्रेस अध्यक्ष मा. खा. अशोकराव चव्हाण साहेब यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली व सहप्रभारी आशिष दूवा साहेब व बी.संदीप यांच्या प्रमुख उपस्थितीत बैठक झाली. त्यात लोकसभा निवडणुकीत ओबीसी समाजाला प्रतिनिधित्व देण्याचा सकारात्मक विचार करण्यात आला. 
ओबीसी समाजाची 52 टक्के पेक्षा अधिक लोकसंख्या असून सोलापूर जिल्ह्यातील माढा या लोकसभा मतदार संघात ओबीसींचे मतदान मोठ्या प्रमाणात आहे तेंव्हा या जागेवर महाराष्ट्र प्रदेश कॉंग्रेस कमेटी ओबीसी विभागाचे कार्याध्यक्ष ऍड. अमितजी कारंडे साहेब किंवा आ. रामहरी रूपनर यांना कॉंग्रेस पक्षाने उमेदवारी द्यावी अशी जोरदार मागणी सदर बैठकीत कॉंग्रेसचे निष्ठावंत कार्यकर्ते समाधान रोकडे यांनी लावून धरली. यावर सकारात्मक चर्चा घङून आली व आघाडी न झाल्यास माढ्यातून ओबीसी उमेदवार देण्यावर एकमत झाले. त्यामुळे महाराष्ट्र प्रदेश ओबीसी कॉंग्रेस च्या कार्यकर्त्यात चैतन्याचे वातावरण निर्माण झाले असून याचा कॉंग्रेस पक्षाला फायदा झाल्याशिवाय राहणार नाही. सदर बैठकीस महाराष्ट्राचे सर्व नेते मंडळी व कॉंग्रेस पक्षाचे पदाधिकारी मोठ्या संख्येने उपस्थित होते.
